Remember Me: A Photographer’s Tribute To My Chemical Romance
It didn’t really quite hit me until Saturday night as I was waiting to shoot a show that I would never be waiting in a state of peaceful anticipation for My Chemical Romance to come out onstage ever again. I was seriously bummed out that it wouldn’t ever happen again, seeing my favorite band to see/shoot set a crowd on fire with their presence live. However, the best thing about the music is the spirit of the band will never die and neither will the music. When you create something in this world that is incredibly important to so many people, it becomes timeless. I’m very excited to see what each of them have got coming in the form of different creative projects both musically and artistically, as each of them are so talented in their own unique ways. In the meantime, I have taken a small portion of those amazing memories and captured them within my camera lenses. I have a great amount of gratitude for having the privilege of shooting them, capturing that and sharing it w…
Music Monday & The White Witch of Rock N’ Roll, Stevie Nicks
Stevie Nicks: All of her work
You can’t have a Music Monday without the White Witch of the Music World; the Fairy Godmother of Rock. I’m an astrological fanatic as well, so it’s no question as to why I call her my favorite musical Gemini. She’s not only influenced many females in the rock genre over the decades following the Fleetwood Mac years, but she’s also influenced fashion as well. There’s even a “Night of 1,00 Stevie Nicks” held each year in NYC if you don’t believe me. There’s no one that sounds like her, looks like her, or has a viewpoint and opinions quite like hers either. …
What’s Next? Collaboration with Shadow The Machine Angel’s Universe Of Characters!
httpvh://youtu.be/d0ez8BFAfZg
It’s always been a dream of mine to be able to combine the illustration work I do with the music business. I’ve always been a music lover and if you know me, it fuels and inspires every piece of my art. You could say this is more than just a bucket list item to cross off. I’ve been approached to create some artwork for the musical group, Shadow The Machine Angel, who’ve gone to great lengths to create an entire universe of characters to go along with their infectious beats. I’ll be designing a poster for an upcoming show they have later this month in Chicago and in this poster will be the StMA characters (whom you can see in both their trailer above and their “Daylight’s End” music video that you can view below). …
Never Before Seen MCR Photos Just For You…By Me.
My Chemical Romance are probably one of the few and far between bands that I can go back and comb through their photos and find new gems. Well, “old new” gems in the hundreds of shots I’ve taken of them. They may be the only. Suppose I’m just feeling nostalgic and have tour fever. The point is, I’m doing this mostly for you, the fans, the band that I love, and lastly, myself. I think it’s a good exercise in reexamining your photography when you can. These guys just happen to be the perfect combo of not just being amazing performers but also photogenic/energetic for concert photographers. …
Pretty Big Deal: MCR art Takes Times Square TONIGHT!
Hello, kids. It’s been a while, and with good cause: I’ve started a new position as an A&R in training (more later), vacations, moving, and of course, plenty of art and photography going on. I’m not here to bore you with the details of my life, though. I’m here to ask you to check out tonight’s exhibition, Art Takes Times Square, in New York City. Not in NYC? No worries! The website, artists wanted.org, will host a live webcam tonight from 7 PM EST to 11 PM where you can see the event as it unfolds.

4 Dudes & A Trans Am: Updates on MCR inspired “Contamination Series II”
Contamination Series 2, Piece 2 completed with Prismacolor Illustration Markers. 16.5″ x 8″. Copyright 2012 Artist Jane Bush.com
Before all of the pieces to Contamination Series 2 are framed, I’m going to be adding something different and special as sort of a “icing on the cake” to take it to a new place. I can’t tell you what it is, but you’ll notice it when you see it (I want to keep you in the loop, but I can’t reveal all my tricks under my hat). So far there are 2 pieces completed in the second series and you’ve taken part in voting on my Facebook. I certainly appreciate that. …
Photos of Mindless Self Indulgence live @ Pop’s in beautiful Sauget, IL!
blogger’s note: Every time a band plays a Pop’s, I make it a point to be sarcastic about the venue being located in “beautiful” Sauget, IL. Why? Because it’s nextto the slums of East St. Louis, surrounded by a plethora of titty bars. An oasis of rock in a circle of strip clubs. Hardly anything “beautiful” about Sauget, butthis venue is legendary.
So let me just start of this post with being an honest as possible without being offensive. I never thought I’d shoot an MSI show. I never had a desire to until I’d been told by multiple fans how entertaining they were and they’d announced their tour dates late last year. I’d tried to listen to their music previously many times and had found myself feeling indifferent to it. I thought I’d officially reached that early 30-somethings where I’m no longer hip with the young crowd and what they’re listening to. As a music lover and a photographer, there are aesthetics that you appreciate differently when you see a live show. I don’t necessaril…
Bursting at the seams: Owl City live @ The Pageant in St. Louis!
Two posts in one day you say? How can it be? That’s because those are the days of catching up after having two shows back to back, that’s why…and because I love you. I was not disappointed whatsoever by the performances of both Owl City or Never Shout Never the previous night in St. Louis. Both of these acts had amazing lighting and stage presence, which to me personally and professionally, is a winning combo! Both strategies become a make or break value in the world of concert photography. That being said, Adam Young and company brought an energetic yet elegant stage performance on tuesday at The Pageant in St. Louis, and I was there to capture it all for you. Next up is Panic! At the Disco tomorrow night with Patrick Stump. I’m quite excited! Scroll down for the full gallery of Owl City’s performance! Cheers and happy hump day!

A few words on Never Shout Never live @ The Pageant in St. Louis
There are plenty of bands out there making great music, but when it comes to their live performances, I find it a hit or a miss when it comes to shooting and witnessing/experiencing a show. There are also plenty of bands I’m curious about so I end up shooting them. Such was the case with Never Shout Never. There are plenty of duplicate bands that sounds very similar to them, but it’s truly an original that can both produce an impressive show and still connect with their fans. That’s what I found with Never Shout Never from Joplin, MO. on sunday evening. They love their fans, they love what they do, and they do it well. Love ‘em or hate ‘em, you can’t deny they are making their mark on modern music. Well done and wonderful aesthetics and stage setup/presence. Also, fabulous lighting. Way to go, fellas! Scroll down further for the entire gallery of sunday night’s show at The Pageant in St. Louis! More to come…
