#Artissmart Creation: “Blade Runner Gerard” Tutorial, Videos, And a Few Words On The Contest
I had an awesome opportunity this week to engage in the twitter based “#artissmart” contest; a contest based on the former profile photo of Gerard Way for those who don’t know. Thousands participated, and in the end there were several winners and runners up. Some of the responses were very supportive while others were arrogant and nasty. Some felt very strongly that they were entitled to win (no one is), but here are some thoughts on myself being a participants and others as well: I had a lot of personal support from fellow participants and fans who were looking at entries, and several had mentioned that I “should have won”. While it’s awesome to have that kind of support (and I thank you for the vote of confidence & passionate responses!) I’m not even sore at all about not winning, and I can say that in all honesty. Was I disappointed? Mmm slightly initially I’ll admit, but not so much because mine wasn’t chosen, but the entries that were chosen. Some I loved! Others, I was a …
Pretty Big Deal: MCR art Takes Times Square TONIGHT!
Hello, kids. It’s been a while, and with good cause: I’ve started a new position as an A&R in training (more later), vacations, moving, and of course, plenty of art and photography going on. I’m not here to bore you with the details of my life, though. I’m here to ask you to check out tonight’s exhibition, Art Takes Times Square, in New York City. Not in NYC? No worries! The website, artists wanted.org, will host a live webcam tonight from 7 PM EST to 11 PM where you can see the event as it unfolds.

4 Dudes & A Trans Am: Updates on MCR inspired “Contamination Series II”
Contamination Series 2, Piece 2 completed with Prismacolor Illustration Markers. 16.5″ x 8″. Copyright 2012 Artist Jane Bush.com
Before all of the pieces to Contamination Series 2 are framed, I’m going to be adding something different and special as sort of a “icing on the cake” to take it to a new place. I can’t tell you what it is, but you’ll notice it when you see it (I want to keep you in the loop, but I can’t reveal all my tricks under my hat). So far there are 2 pieces completed in the second series and you’ve taken part in voting on my Facebook. I certainly appreciate that. …
MCR Party Poison Time Lapse Art Video!
Regarding my current project as I recently blogged about, I’ve been looking to expand and expose to you how I do my work through videos and future tutorials. I’ve always wanted to provide those who are interested in my art with a time lapse video. I never looked much into it since I figured I didn’t have the right type of equipment on hand. Not the case, thanks to the Time Lapse app for the iPhone. I recorded this earlier in about an hour, and did a little editing in iMovie, and voila! So here’s a little 1:30 gem I made just for you. I’m hoping to do one when I start inking the next piece.

MCR “Sing” Illustration Artwork Inspired By The Video
Before I blog about this, let me just apologize for the watermarks. You know why I have to do this is because of recent theft. I don’t like it either, but that’s the way it is.
This was actually something I had in mind to create months ago, but it got put on the back burner because of other projects at the time. Inspired by the Sing video/MCR “Danger Days” era, I used Canson 19″ x 24″ XL Recycled double-sided bristol board (the smooth side works well with marker and ink applications) and 7-pen Prismacolor pen set I’ve come to love over the past year. As soon as I first saw the original photograph/still behind this piece, I knew I wanted to make a work of art out of it, as it already was a work of art in my mind (if that makes sense).…
From my Art Desk: “SING” Video Inspired Artwork
Hmm, how did I manage to miss this? It was released 5 months ago and I somehow missed it. Way to go, me! Anyways, in some ways I love this version with all of its wonderful sound effects! PEW PEW! I love it.

This video, of course, brings up my current work in progress being the source of inspiration. The moment I saw some of the beautiful photography stills that came from its production on set, I couldn’t resist sitting down and making a work of art to compliment it. I had actually sketched this out months ago and after having a few other projects done, I’m finally finishing it with ink/pen and marker on a 18″ x 24″ bristol board.

The evolution of “Danger Days” My Chemical Romance Comic Art Illustration
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve probably heard that New Jersey’s My Chemical Romance is about to release their 4th studio album, “Danger Days: The True Lives Of The Fabulous Killjoys”, in about a month. The following art I’m about to blog about is a somewhat of a play by play of what was going on within me artistically and how the above artwork came to fruition.…
