New and improved website! Now with new Art 101 features, portfolios, and ninart.com archives!
Well, hello…it’s been a while and I’ve been meaning to get this site revamped and off the ground again. I found myself slacking on blog posts to once a month. So what better to do than invest in a new site layout (as all the free Wordpress layouts always had something that wasn’t quite right in one area or another) and use that as a catalyst?!
So here’s what’s in store for this website and what’s been redone:
-An online official store will be active and online very soon. I’m adding art for sale and prints as we speak; an official announcement will be made once it’s up. Just have to work out the nooks and crannies.
-Revamped the entire portfolio section, breaking it down into different subcategories in the navigation bar above. You’ll find the updated main gallery but also:
Paintings - Acrylics, gouache, watercolor..you name it!
Digital Art - Pretty self explanatory
Illustrations/Drawings - Colored pencil, pen & ink, graphite, etc.
Portraits - The faces you kno…
Never Before Seen MCR Photos Just For You…By Me.
My Chemical Romance are probably one of the few and far between bands that I can go back and comb through their photos and find new gems. Well, “old new” gems in the hundreds of shots I’ve taken of them. They may be the only. Suppose I’m just feeling nostalgic and have tour fever. The point is, I’m doing this mostly for you, the fans, the band that I love, and lastly, myself. I think it’s a good exercise in reexamining your photography when you can. These guys just happen to be the perfect combo of not just being amazing performers but also photogenic/energetic for concert photographers. …
Pretty Big Deal: MCR art Takes Times Square TONIGHT!
Hello, kids. It’s been a while, and with good cause: I’ve started a new position as an A&R in training (more later), vacations, moving, and of course, plenty of art and photography going on. I’m not here to bore you with the details of my life, though. I’m here to ask you to check out tonight’s exhibition, Art Takes Times Square, in New York City. Not in NYC? No worries! The website, artists wanted.org, will host a live webcam tonight from 7 PM EST to 11 PM where you can see the event as it unfolds.

4 Dudes & A Trans Am: Updates on MCR inspired “Contamination Series II”
Contamination Series 2, Piece 2 completed with Prismacolor Illustration Markers. 16.5″ x 8″. Copyright 2012 Artist Jane Bush.com
Before all of the pieces to Contamination Series 2 are framed, I’m going to be adding something different and special as sort of a “icing on the cake” to take it to a new place. I can’t tell you what it is, but you’ll notice it when you see it (I want to keep you in the loop, but I can’t reveal all my tricks under my hat). So far there are 2 pieces completed in the second series and you’ve taken part in voting on my Facebook. I certainly appreciate that. …
Danger Days inspired “Contamination Series I” Art in LA show at Gallery Godo!
Happy first post of 2012! It’s been a moment, and while I meant to blog over the holidays, it rarely happens on account of it basically being the chaos of the season. However, I’m proud to announce the display of my first art show group exhibition coming this friday, January 20th. This exhibition is featuring my first series of the My Chemical Romance/Danger Days inspired “Contamination Series”. The exhibition, entitled “All’s Well That Continues Well”, will be held at the Gallery Godo in Glendale, California.
The Contamination Series features 7 original pen/ink and prismacolor illustrations by yours truly inspired by the world of the Killjoys featured within the “Danger Days” album/universal concept. Mainly these illustrations were taken inspired by moments in their music videos from the album, Sing and Na Na Na. My mission was not only to preserve the memory of this era but to highlight some of the intensity of it and specific moments in their own glory. This wasn’t just to give…
Thnks Fr The Mmrs!: MCR Tour Blogger & Photography wrap up for Kansas City + Videos
As I write this, it’s September 11th, 2011. I woke up at approximately 9:02 am today, and I realized that it was at this exact same time 10 years ago today that the second plane crashed into the World Trade Center. It was the day that changed everyone, as if it were the day the earth stood still. I also realized as I lay there that I’d be publishing photos and writing this very blog about the band that was born from the September 11th attacks. If I had a time machine and my 22 year old former self from a decade ago would’ve known I’d be photographing the best band in the world spawned from the events that day, she would laugh and say the only camera she could operate was a Kodak FunSaver, much less know who My Chemical Romance are. Funny how the universe works and things feel as if they’re coming full circle.
I’ve been blessed to see MCR in multiple cities over the years. More recently in the last year, I’ve been blessed to have photographed them now for 5 different shows. Each show…
One more trip around the sun! A lot can happen in a year!
Konnichiwa!!! So far, my 30′s have been kick ass overall. I can’t complain. I’m 32 as of today at 10:15 AM, and as I reflected on all that’s happened in the past year since I turned 31, I realized just how blessed I am. It hasn’t all been smooth sailing, but that’s life. There were some pretty tragic things that happened, but out of those things happening came some amazing experiences and life changing events:
I lost someone who was like a mother to me very suddenly and also lost a close friend. However, I also formed a new friendship with someone who is so fantastic and feel like I’ve known forever, whom I see as both a friend and like a mother.

MCR announces MASSCanvas T-Shirt winners!
This morning My Chemical Romance chose their 5 winners for their ”Good Vs. Evil” t-shirt contest associated with MASSCanvas. Although my personal entry didn’t win along with many others, it’s nice to see that so many people got involved for a great cause and were inspired (because let’s face it, the inspiration and creative process is really worth the experience whether you won or not).

When I first entered, I thought it was quite an incredible idea to get fans involved in limited edition t-shirt prints where proceeds go to the Make-A-Wish foundation. Watch the video for details on how to get your Limited Edition MASSCanvas MCR shirt before this Friday at 11:59 PST and be entered to win a meet n’greet for two and signed guitar. You can purchase t-shirts here. Below was my submission to the contest. Congratulations to all the winners! All of the entries were extremely cool and it was awesome to see all the different interpretations of …
Mutual Admiration Society: My Chemical Romance in St. Louis (photos & blog)
Well, it’s certainly no secret by now that you know that My Chemical Romance are not only my favorite live band, but my favorite band to photograph. I’ve been blessed enough to see them and photograph them multiple times in multiple cities, but I’ve been attending their shows long before I became a concert photographer. Each show has been slightly different in its energy (especially when it comes to different cities) and each show has been a different experience. Each show has been amazing in its own unique way. Once I think I have experienced the best show with this band, they blow everyone out of the water all over again.…
Photos: My Chemical Romance live in Seattle @ Showbox SODO
Once again, My Chemical Romance killed it and won the crowd over on my trip to Seattle when they played at the Showbox SODO. As I watched it from afar in perfect view of the band and audience, it was clear that it felt like the audience and band were all making the connection with each other. Their music has a way of doing this of course. This is the third time I’ve had the privilege of photographing them live. First time in Kansas City, and the second time in my hometown of St. Louis. They are still by far my favorite band to both photograph and experience live! Special thanks to Deb, Sam, and Shane! Click on any of the photos to view the gallery on flickr!
